Many people are deciding that going to a university is not an option for them anymore since it is expensive. There is not a guarantee that the person will find work in their field after graduation. They may decide to go to a trade school instead of a university since they can learn a skill that can help them find work since many employers prefer to hire people who have experience.
Trade Schools offer a number of trades, such as nursing, mechanic, and welding. There are plenty of jobs in these fields. University graduates cannot take these jobs because they do not have the experience.
Some people figure that by going to a trade school it will make them less than someone with a university degree. That is not true. In fact, a person with a university degree may end up working for less pay than someone who went to a trade school. Most employers want someone who has experience and not just a university degree. By going to a trade school, you are one step ahead of someone with a university degree when it comes to obtaining employment.
Another reason why you should consider going to a trade school is that you may not have to spend too long in school. You may have to train for two years or less. It all depends on what trade you pursue. Also, at a trade school, you may still have to take General Education courses, such as English and Math. Some trades require that you are proficient in Math before you can take another course in your trade. If you ever wanted to go to a university, you will have most of your General Education courses completed.
Most of the work that is completed at a trade school is hands-on. You will start getting experience in your trade as soon as you enter your first class. Most trade schools offer career placement, where a career counselor will help you to locate employment before or after you graduate. The career counselor has connections with businesses that are willing to hire graduates that came from the trade school.
